Renée Marie Petropoulos

Renée Marie Petropoulos, is an award-winning, Greek-Australian filmmaker with a background in drama, a cinematic eye and deep emotive instinct.

Renée received her MFA in Directing at Columbia University, graduating in May 2017. Her much acclaimed graduating thesis film, ‘Tangles and Knots’ (2018) premiered at Berlinale, followed by screenings at SXSW, Palm Springs, Athens & Melbourne International Film Festivals. The short was nominated for the 2018 AACTA & 2019 ADG Awards; and won Best Direction at Flickerfest 2019 and Best Female Director at Hollyshorts Film Festival 2019.

She recently made her commercial debut with a spot for Bushells, Unilever and has worked with the Sydney Opera House. Renée specialises in female driven stories and working with young people.
